Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins, such as vitamin E, which hydrate the skin and form a protective barrier to prevent dryness, as well as moisturize and provide relief from itching and irritation. The lauric acid in coconut oil has antibacterial, anti fungal, and antimicrobial that can help fight off bacteria, fungi, and yeast, and can also soothe minor wounds and irritants. Coconut oil will also help soothe and protect minor cuts, scrapes, and hot spots, promoting faster healing. Coconut oil acts as a natural moisturizer, helping to rehydrate dry, flaky, or cracked skin, especially on areas like elbows, knees, and feet. Its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties can help relieve mild itchiness and discomfort associated with dry skin or minor irritations.
